Laser marking on cutting tools

Drill bits, rearmer and others, known as cutting tools are usually used to remove metal from workpieces. They are made of particularly hard materials and are destined to long time use at high temperatures. So, there is nothing better than an industrial laser to guarantee indelible marking on such tools. Indeed, these ones manage it to mark clearly and permanently technical informations, product references or brand names essential to the identification of the tools.
Because every application is specific, ES TECHNOLOGY offers two ranges of lasers capable of marking on metallic parts. The es FLY lasers operate through mechanical effect, metal melting down causing the etching. The es CODE lasers are working through annealing, allowing to mark without taking any matter off. A local warm up of the metal nearby its melting temperature leads the matter to a color change which lets the surface totally smooth.

Growth rate of 9% in next years

According to Laser 2010, a new report from market research company, Strategies Unlimited, the global market for lasers is expected to grow by $2.6 billion to $8.8 billion in 2014, representing a growth rate of 9 percent, which is more moderate than the average historical rate of 14 percent. Let's remember that worldwide laser sales fell 25 percent in 2009, the first decline since 2000. Subsequently, 2009 was still among the 6 top revenue years in the history of the laser. Fiber lasers fared best with only a 5 percent decline in 2009 to $280 million in sales.

Laser market may recover positive trend in 2010

For the first time since 2000 worldwide laser sales fell during 2009 because of the worldwide recession. According to the latest industry review and forecast from Laser Focus World, the global market for lasers could return to growth in 2010 (about 11%) bringing total revenues to $5.91 billion for the year. "Recovery is coming in 2010, but some laser market sectors will do better than others," says Dr. Tom Hausken, analyst at Strategies Unlimited who conducted the survey. "Semiconductor and display manufacturing tools, biomedical systems and R&D are already on the rise, but slower sectors such as most of materials processing will not see growth until late 2010 or even 2011."

For the second time this year, several of ES TECHNOLOGY partners are meeting in Léognan. During three days, they will learn from our industrial laser specialists how to set, use and fix our products. Concreta 2009

The 24th edition of the International Exhibition for the Construction Industry opened its doors this morning in Porto. To mark on your labels, nothing is better than industrial laser

Industrial and service label suppliers, including Tesa, 3M and Schreiner, are selling so called laser labels, particularly suitable for applications requiring durability, flexibility and resistance to forgery. They can be engraved using lasers with any choice of fonts, barcodes or graphs and then cut to any required shape in the same operating cycle. Industrial fields related to this application are, among others, automotive, supply, electrical and electronics industries or the medical field.

Want to proceed to day and night design, choose industrial laser quality

Day and night design is particularly used in the automotive field. In fact, dashboards manufacturers are used to undercoat their plastic parts with white paint before they cover them with dark one. Thanks to industrial laser, that latter pain layer can easily be removed on well-defined points (numbers, letters, symbols, etc.) unveiling the white paint underneath. White characters are then clearly readable during day but also during night through backlit.

LASER World of Photonics strengthens the industry's confidence

Despite the difficult economic conditions around the world, the LASER World of Photonics 2009 show is posting positive results. With 1 040 exhibitors coming from all over the world, the show set a new record. And, even if the number of attendees has slightly droped, "exhibitors expressed strong satisfaction" thanks to a better percentage of "concrete conversations".

Economic recession in the industrial laser field : "The worst is over"

While visiting the LASER World of Photonics in Munich, teams of Industrial Laser Solutions took the opportunity to interview some exhibitors. Concerning the worldwide economic recession, many of them seem to agree that "the recovery might not begin until late in the year". But, they also concur that "the worst is over". And, on tuesday morning, "the disgorging crowds of visitors" coming out of the U-Bahn station where trains arrive from Munich, seemed to be a prima facie evidence of it.
